Embodiment taster session
Free CPD event for 90 minutes
Friday March 24th 2023, 11:00-12:30 (1.5 CPD hours)
Format: Zoom with live tutor facilitation
Would you like to use breath, body, and sound for emotional regulation with your clients?
Are you interested in combining body-based approaches in your therapy work?
Then you are welcome to invite yourself inwards at this free CPD event. Robert Rees and Tamsin Olivier will facilitate this 90-minute Zoom CPD working in your body with subtle and yet powerful approaches to client work.
It’s designed for therapists who want to move past uncertainty or unskilled, or perhaps feeling silly, towards confidence in offering embodied approaches and breath work with clients.
In this taster session, we will be working with the breath, working in your body with subtle and yet powerful approaches to client work – as a potential antodote to an increasingly digital world which is disembodied.
In their role as facilitators, Tamsin Olivier and Robert Rees will share their ideas and practical ways for attendees to take away practical tools and techniques for a more embodied way of working. This is as helpful for therapists themselves as well as for their clients. This workshop will deliver more ways to hold embodied presence and offer this to clients.

Overview of the Emotional Regulation
Free CPD seminar for 90 minutes
Wednesday 27th April 2022 at 2:30-4:00pm
Do you find it unsettling when your patients/clients become distressed or dissociated during appointments? Would you like to develop effective skills and more confidence in managing emotional overwhelm? Do you think your patients/clients could benefit from integrating emotional regulation techniques outside session times?
In this 90-minute Zoom seminar, Dr James Kustow and Robert Rees will give an overview of emotional dysregulation, how this shows up in the consulting room, and (more importantly) how you can coach your clients or patients in emotional regulation techniques. These approaches can be used during the appointment, or in between sessions if signs of overwhelm appear. After the event, each attendee will receive a CPD certificate free of charge for 1.5 hours of learning.
So many therapists worry when clients become dysregulated through emotional imbalance, which affects the body and mind uncomfortably.
This free CPD event will equip you with an introduction to improving your skills in emotional regulation. It will also be an opportunity to ask about The Grove’s unique cutting-edge course on Advanced Emotional Regulation Skills, which begins on Friday 13th May: 6 days of training, 1 day per month, from May to December 2022.
The Trauma of Relationship
Sarah Paton Briggs presenting for COSRT
Friday 23 September 2022 9:30am – 1:30pm (4 CPD hours)
One of our directors, Sarah Paton Briggs, has been invited by COSRT to present this seminar. It’s designed for therapists who work with relationships or sexual issues. The CPD seminar is on Zoom as a tutor-led live event. It’s interactive with time for questions and discussion among the group, with a set of slide materials provided. Relationship can be traumatic. This CPD workshop offers a theoretical foundation layered with practice-based learning for therapists to understand when trauma is triggering disturbance in relationships – and then how to handle situations arising in the therapy space.
Sarah has a wealth of experience as a sexual & relationship therapist & supervisor accredited by COSRT, which is the leading professional membership organisation for relationship and psychosexual therapy in the UK. She is also co-tutor on The Grove’s Certificate and Diploma in Trauma Therapy, a programme written to equip therapists with a systematic method for assessing and processing trauma memories. Whereas this 4-hour CPD workshop will give an overview of how to spot the hard and soft signs of trauma with your clients, plus a toolkit of trauma-informed psycho-educational responses for the therapist to be equipped when trauma comes into relationship therapy.
