The Grove’s approach: How Therapy Helps
We understand that sometimes during life, we can become stuck in patterns of behavior and thoughts that are no longer purposeful. These patterns may also hinder our personal and professional development and growth. A lot of what counselling entails is exploring the process of self-actualisation. This is a process of natural change, which is getting in touch with what is our deepest truth, supported by the therapeutic relationship which provides an atmosphere of trust and acceptance. Our team of therapists are on hand to support you throughout the process.
At The Grove, we offer you tools and insights to develop your own strengths and capabilities. This may involve using models from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt, psychodynamic or psychoanalytic perspectives, Transactional Analysis or person-centred therapy. You’ll develop your own solutions and resolution, supported by your therapist – which results in lasting change from within.
If you’re interested in exploring your self-imposed limitations and are seeking to realise your potential, read more about the different ways in which therapy can help below or contact us online now.
Counselling FAQs
Psychotherapy literally translated means ‘healing or nursing of the soul’ and is derived from the ancient Greeks and their understanding of human nature and the psyche. Adolescent Therapy
Adolescence is a developmental phase and a period of change that is of critical importance. Adolescent counselling aims to engage with the everyday problems faced, and through increased awareness of thoughts and feelings, to develop communication skills and improve self-esteem.
Group Therapy
At The Grove, we also offer group therapy where we deal with issues as a group, allowing us to reach our potential through learning about ourselves and other people. Group counselling can help you improve interpersonal relationships as well as help you realise you aren’t alone in the difficulties you face.
Supervision
The Grove also offers supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists, whether in training or qualified. Supervision is provided by Sarah Paton Briggs or Ian May. We value the reflective opportunity that supervision provides, as well as a space to explore your own process as a therapist. We encourage a developmental and supportive approach to the use of supervision. To find out more, please contact us via info@thegrovepractice.lonzo.co.
