Dissociation and Trauma Therapy
Traumatic situations can arise in many different ways and leave you feeling shaken to the core.
Since 2002 in the heart of London’s West End, The Grove has grown organically from a private psychotherapy service, into a cutting-edge leader in mental health training for professionals. The Grove’s courses expand and enhance practitioners’ therapeutic skillset allowing for deeper effectiveness with their clients. Our tutor-led courses are held in person or on Zoom with some self-study options via our digital learning platform. The Grove is a quality-driven company, run by four practising clinicians (one psychiatrist and three psychotherapists). We integrate specialist knowledge into effective practice, both for our clients and trainees. We believe in the power of therapeutic connection to bring about positive change in the world. Whether you choose to enrol with the Grove or are here for therapy with one of our directors – welcome to our website.
I like the professional and teaching philosophy of the course. I can clearly see that these philosophies are mirrored in the tutors' personal values and philosophies. I also like the way that the courses are set out with access to comprehensive written materials.
My learning style is just very much one where I need input before I can offer output. The great thing I am gaining from both courses with The Grove is the confidence to try things out without fearing judgement, however, and this to me is the gift you have both given me which I will always be grateful for.
It was very well organised and delivered and I was pleased that a zoom course could be so interactive and enjoyable: practising some of the skills being taught such as presenting, giving feedback, summarising and coaching around an issue.

Emotional regulation is a key tool to learn as an adult, as it can affect the way we interact with others, as well as the experiences that we have and how we feel about ourselves afterwards.
Even if one or both clients attending couples therapy have had individual sessions before there can still be a lot of uncertainty in terms of what to expect from joint therapy sessions.
